Founder’s field note
I built the contact cleaner I wanted to trust.
I started Roster after a silent phone merge swallowed a client’s number. My own contacts were three copies deep across accounts, and every “cleanup” tool felt like a black box.
So Roster shows its work. Connected accounts stay read-only. Likely matches wait for review. A merge can be put back. It is early, and it is still just me—if something breaks, your note lands in my actual inbox.

- Does Roster change my Google, iCloud, or Outlook contacts?
- No. Connected accounts are read-only; Roster’s clean record lives inside Roster.
- Does Roster merge people automatically?
- No. It surfaces likely matches, then waits for you to choose the lead record and confirm.
- Can I undo a merge?
- Yes. The originals stay on file so the merge can be reversed inside Roster.
- Is every source available to everyone yet?
- Roster is in alpha. The connection options currently available to your account appear inside the app.
